After inviting Medical Champions across the state to apply and fielding eight amazing candidates, Reach Out and Read Texas is delighted to announce that Dr. Kim K. Cheung of UTHealth Houston has been selected as State Medical Director!

Dr. Cheung has implemented Reach Out and Read in her clinical practice for over 24 years. Her aims as State Medical Director are to work closely with the Affiliate Director to promote the program across Texas, recruit pediatric and family practice residents to be enthusiastic about early childhood literacy, and to integrate a medical perspective into strategic planning, policy and education for Reach Out and Read in Texas.
